I was utterly amazed by how well the surgery went. There was very little bleeding and my dog had no bruising, and no appreciable pain, or discomfort following the procedure. Being able to work alongside Chris while he explained how the unit worked, and having him show me how to use the unit, was one of the best experiences I ever had in a surgery suite.

My surgical laser has been one of the best investments in my 35 years of practice. It has proven to be a constant source of income while separating my practice from others that do not offer laser surgery. The ability to drastically reduce pain, swelling and hemorrhage is invaluable.

I upgraded to a 3020. I think it’s terrific. It’s faster and easier, and I love setting my own standby thresholds.

Jim Antunano, DVM
President, Veterinary Surgical Laser Society, Animal Medical Diagnostic Center, Valrico, FL

With the Aesculight laser one can change quickly from a cutting mode to ablating mode. Most of the CO2 lasers are designed primarily for cutting. Ablation with these lasers is very tedious and complicated. In dermatology, most of our procedures require wide field ablations; cutting is not used as often, so this Aesculight laser is an excellent choice for the skin. Aesculight is the company with its headquarters in the USA. They build the laser entirely in the US, in compliance with and exceeding all the US standards. This laser is of the highest quality and is built to last. It is a laser with engineering that you can rely on, by people who you can trust. This laser is far superior both in quality and safety to all of the foreign built lasers that are on the market.

David Duclos, DVM
Animal Skin and Allergy Clinic, Lynwood, WA

I LOVE this laser! It is simply a joy to work with. I especially appreciate the programmability that allows each individual laser surgeon the option to adjust particular user settings such as timing delays of the smoke evacuator and standby modes, common power settings, etc. Having the smoke evacuator tied into the laser footpedal is another great advantage. I also commend you on the engineering advances – despite the fact that this laser is a 30 watt compared to my former 20 watt unit, it never gives me the overtemp warning when running it at high power settings for long periods of time.

I can’t think of anything to improve upon! Congratulations on an outstanding product!

I have been extremely pleased both with the Aesculight laser and the Aesculight company. Dr. Arza (Aesculight laser consultant) was great to work with during the entire process, and provided a valuable day of laser set-up and surgery. The laser is user-friendly and has been a wonderful addition to our practice. I’d recommend Aesculight to anyone. Thank you!

I have found that we need to do very little to sell our laser to our clients. They already know the benefits of laser. They accept it readily and they want it for their pets. The laser has produced profits from the start.

We use the laser almost every day, and the first month billed out $700.00 in laser-use fees running from $35.00 for minor procedures to $150.00 for more complicated ones. Averaging $50-$75. Not one complaint about laser fees. In fact, quite the opposite, clients are impressed with the technology and excellent results.

...laser surgery offers better hemostasis and visibility, less post-operative swelling, and decreased post-operative pain. In certain procedures, better hemostasis and visibility will reduce overall surgical time. As more clients and owners become familiar with these advantages, the laser will become a frequently requested surgical tool.

It is now fair to say that various surgical lasers have extended the operative precision, range, and morbidity reduction in small animal surgery. Equine upper airway surgery has also been revolutionized, and there are certainly many applications yet to be developed.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers are used in oral surgery for precisely cutting or vaporizing soft tissue with hemostasis... tissue vaporization is more efficient with the CO2 laser than with other lasers... because of the direct absorption of this wavelength by water.

Jan Bellows, DVM
“Laser Use in Veterinary Dentistry”, Vet Clin Small Anim 32 (2002) 673-692., Elsevier Science, (USA)

The carbon dioxide laser is a very effective tool for treating diseases of the perianal region. The skin of the perianal region is thin and sensitive… the laser offers a “no touch” method of excising these lesions, which helps to decrease post-operative discomfort and irritation... the laser is very effective in controlling hemorrhage from vessels smaller than 0.5 mm... the laser photothermally vaporizes bacteria, so that bacterial numbers are decreased, which helps reduce the risk of post-operative infection. These factors help the patient recover quicker and return to function sooner.

In using Laser we affect a decrease in pain, swelling, and bleeding during surgery. The laser is used in place of a traditional scalpel. It is very useful in almost every procedure, including such procedures as lump removal, oral and skin surgery. We have observed a significant reduction in post operative discomfort for all of our pets when procedures involve laser versus the traditional scalpel method.

The laser is so precise in its capabilities that it allows us to do procedures that were once thought to be impossible or at least very risky. When used during the removal of a pancreatic tumor the laser can seal the organ. When used during the reduction of a long soft palate in Bull Dogs, it dramatically reduces the risk of bleeding.

North Town Veterinary Hospital
Brampton, ON, Canada

WHY CHOSE LASER? The answer is simple. Patients that have laser surgery experience dramatically less pain than with conventional surgery. CO2 lasers seal the nerve endings. Without the “raw” severed nerve, the patient feels little pain or discomfort. These patients also have very little bleeding or swelling. With laser surgery, there is also no tearing of the tissue. Without the usual trauma of conventional surgery there is minimal bruising and inflammation. Therefore, most patients have a speedier recovery allowing pets and their loved ones to be home together sooner.

Laser surgery is one of the newest surgical innovations available to veterinary medicine. It uses surgical CO2 laser light to cut and cauterize tissue instead of a scalpel blade. It literally vaporizes cells to separate the tissue planes for incisions or to vaporize to remove unwanted cells. While common in human medicine for plastic surgery and other medical procedures for many years, it is now available economically enough for veterinary medicine to benefit...

I have been very pleased with my purchase of the Aesculight 30 watt CO2 laser. There is no doubt that it is a great addition to my practice. I have been pleasantly surprised to find excellent client acceptance of the technology. The first month I used the laser, I did not perform a single procedure without a laser. Since, clients still opt for use of the laser >90% of the time. Clients already understand that laser is better...

The main advantages of the CO2 wavelength technology for soft tissue surgery include reduced tissue trauma, precise dissection, sterilization of the tissue surface, reduced operative hemorrhage, quickened healing and reduced post-operative pain. My clients regularly comment on how good the surgical sites look.
