The Aesculight surgical handpiece is scalpel-like and autoclavable, with variable spot sizes and replaceable laser tips. The handpiece connects to the distal end of the flexible fiber waveguide.

The Aesculight laser is a second-generation flexible fiber CO2 laser for incision, excision, vaporization, ablation, and coagulation of soft tissue.
